Trump’s defense demands for NATO would end Denmark’s welfare state. Smaller welfare state means lower prevalence of atheism. European atheism and economics/socialism

The article  Trump’s Defense Demands for NATO Would End Denmark’s Welfare State
declares:
Only a handful of nations meet the requirement, including the U.K. and Poland. Meanwhile, Denmark and Germany, nations known for their generous welfare states, only spend 1.18 percent and 1.2 percent of their GDP on defense, respectively.
The atheist Niles Bieber writes:
In social democracies, there is less fear and uncertainty about the future because social welfare programs provide a safety net and better health care means that fewer people can expect to die young. People who are less vulnerable to the hostile forces of nature feel more in control of their lives and less in need of religion. Hence my finding of belief in God being higher in countries with a heavy load of infectious diseases.

In my new study of 137 countries, I also found that atheism increases for countries with a well-developed welfare state (as indexed by high taxation rates). Moreover, countries with a more equal distribution of income had more atheists.
Atheist professor Derek Bickerton states:
Nigel Barbers' post Why Atheism Will Replace Religion (henceforth WAWRR) is based on two assumptions: that improvement in economic conditions is the major driving force behind the spread of atheism. and that atheism will triumph globally when similar conditions spread to Asia, Africa and South America. Both assumptions are dubious indeed. With regard to the second, it's even dubious whether Europe and North America can maintain their current level of economic development. Plenty of civilizations have suffered economic collapse--why should ours be the one exception? But even if we do come out of the current depression, what difference will that make to the rest of the world?
So what will happen to European atheism if socialism is cut back in many countries due to higher defense spending or if social spending on the non-elderly population is cut back to support higher spending to support an aging population?  What will happen if Europe suffers significant economic troubles?

Excerpt from the academic paper entitled The Changing Face of Global Christianity by Dr. Todd Johnson & Sandra S. Kim:
As Latourette’s Great Century was coming to a close, churches outside of Europe and the Americas that took root in the 19th century grew rapidly in the 20th century.10 Africa, in particular, led this transformation growing from only 10 million Christians in 1900 to 360 million by AD 2000. Given current trends, there could be over 600 million Christians in Africa by 2025. Shortly after 1980, Christians in the South outnumbered those in the North for the first time in 1,000 years. In 1900 over 80% of all Christians lived in Europe and Northern America, however, by 2005 this proportion had fallen to under 40% and will likely fall below 30% before 2050. Projections for the future show that the Christian churches of the Global South (Africa, Asia, Latin America and Oceania) will likely continue to acquire an increasing percentage of global Christianity...

Another daily reality for Southern Christians is poverty. Much of the global South deals with serious issues of poverty and a lack of access to proper health care. Countries that have been hardest hit by AIDS, such as Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Swaziland, are also countries where Christianity is flourishing. Without access to the necessary medical care, accounts of healing and exorcism found in the Bible are taken more seriously. The work of the Holy Spirit exhibited in the ministry of signs and miracles of healing and deliverance from demonic powers has exploded in the ministry of Pentecostal/Charismatic churches in the global South. David Smith describes these churches as “overwhelmingly charismatic and conservative in character, reading the New Testament in ways that seem puzzlingly literal to their friends in the North,” and as “largely made up of poor people who in many cases live on the very edge of existence.”  Thus the growth of Christianity in poorer regions implies not only an alternative reading of the Bible, but a different experience of the Bible.

The article  Social unrest in Europe altering its religious landscape declares:
On November 9, 2009, the pro-evolution magazine Christianity Today published an article by a Berlin journalist entitled Germany's 'Cold Religion'. Among other things, the article claimed that if Martin Luther were alive today he would drive most of the present day German ministers from their pulpits.

Below is a relevant excerpt from the article in relation to the creation vs. evolution issue:
The Protestant state church is fairly dead. The percent of committed Christians in Germany is maybe at 3 or 4 percent. Eighty percent belong to a church nominally, Protestant or Catholic. A mere 0.5 percent belong to a free evangelical church. The percent of people believing in life after death is fewer than 50 percent. It's what a German philosopher, Ruediger Safranski, calls "cold religion," very left-brained, very cognitive, focused on rituals and membership but not on personal commitment. Sometimes the mainline bishops say we need to be more mission minded. But they don't put any money into it.

Is there something about German culture that keeps churches from growing?

Part of the problem is that German institutions are more important than they are in America. Unlike America, we don't have a history of being nonconformist, of doing "our own thing," of risking failure. We try to abide by the rules of the dominant system. And systems are slow to adapt. I like to put it this way: Europe is a legacy, whereas America is a project. Europe is about looking at what you have, not what you could have; it's about position, not potential, which makes change so much more difficult...

Every hundred years or so, you have major social unrest in Europe. You have people longing, looking for new solutions. And at that situation God anoints or calls people who are good with communicating and meetings those needs. People are so lonely these days, and relationships are so fragile. We are living in pretty revolutionary times.
So is there about a 100 year cycle of social unrest in Europe?

The 5 most HORRIBLE pieces of information for militant atheists that has ever been published

Mr. Militant Atheist, are you stilling down?  If not, I suggest you do so. You are about to read  the 5 MOST HORRIBLE pieces of news for militant atheists that has ever been published

Consider:

1.  China has the largest atheist population in the world. Evangelical Christianity is growing in that country at an explosive pace. By 2030, China is projected to have the world's largest Christian population. See: China on course to become 'world's most Christian nation' within 15 years

For additional information, please read:

Growth of Christianity in China

2.  Japan has the second largest atheist population in the world.

A news article entitled Japan tops list of countries with shrinking population projection, but no one’s surprised indicates:

As you may have heard, the Japanese population has taken a turn for the older…and the smaller. In fact, it has even topped a list of five countries facing “extinction” according to Sputnik Japan. The statistics have got a lot of people talking online, and we’re here to share all the tongue-wagging with you!

The Sputnik article references a study by the Population Reference Bureau (PRB) which lists five countries that are expected to see massive decreases in population over the next 35 years. According to the article, Japan’s population is projected to decrease by 25 percent from its current population of 126,981,000 to 95,152,000. The PRB also predicts that the portion of the population aged 65 or older will also make up a full 23 percent of the entire population.

3. France is a country with one of the largest atheist populations.

The newly revised article  Another torpedo is headed towards the S.S. Global Atheism. Au revoir atheist movement  paints an even bleaker future for French atheism than the original article.

4. On July 24, 2013, CNS News indicated:
Atheism is in decline worldwide, with the number of atheists falling from 4.5% of the world’s population in 1970 to 2.0% in 2010 and projected to drop to 1.8% by 2020, according to a new report by the Center for the Study of Global Christianity at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, Mass.
5.   Shall the Religious Inherit the Earth?: Demography and Politics in the Twenty-First Century by Eric Kaufmann, Belfer Center, Harvard University/Birkbeck College, University of London

And remember, Jesus said, "The meek shall inherit the earth".  And Jesus is never wrong!

Another torpedo is headed towards the S.S. Global Atheism. Au revoir atheist movement

Another torpedo is heading towards the S.S. Global Atheism.

Historically and at the present time, France is a significant player when it comes to global atheism (see also: 18th century atheism ).

Now even mainstream press outlets like CNBC are speculating that a civil war will occur in France as can be seen by this recent article What next? Could France be facing a civil war?

It looks like a significant portion of the world's atheist population, namely French atheists, will be bogged down in a war zone sometime in the 21st century.

I read a concise and informative article about the current state of events in France and the author thought a civil war will break out in France in the next 10 years (see: Why France is on the brink of civil war ). According to the article, the atheists in France are very ignorant about religion due to the education system largely ignoring the topic. The situation in France between the ignorant and intolerant atheists and the disgruntled, unassimilated and radical Muslims who live in ghettos reminds me of a line in the movie Cool Hand Luke: "What we've got here is failure to communicate".

According to a recently published Pew Research article
Germany and France have the largest Muslim populations among European Union member countries. As of 2010, there were 4.8 million Muslims in Germany (5.8% of the country’s population) and 4.7 million Muslims in France (7.5%). In Europe overall, however, Russia’s population of 14 million Muslims (10%) is the largest on the continent...

The Muslim share of Europe’s total population has been increasing steadily. In recent decades, the Muslim share of the population throughout Europe grew about 1 percentage point a decade, from 4% in 1990 to 6% in 2010. This pattern is expected to continue through 2030, when Muslims are projected to make up 8% of Europe’s population.

Two questions to consider:

1. Who won the Soviet Afghan War? The militant atheists of the Soviet Union or the Islamic nation of Afghanistan?

2.  In recent times, how good are the godless French when it comes to fighting wars?  How well did the French do in World War II, Mr. Militant Atheist?

All I can say is that if the French atheists get involved in a religious/civil war, they better bring a stronger religion than the religion of secular leftistism!  Otherwise, they may be bogged down for a long time.

On July 12, 2012, the Christian Science Monitor reported:
French scholars say, evangelicalism is likely the fastest-growing religion in France – defying all stereotypes about Europe’s most secular nation... Daniel Liechti, vice-president of the French National Evangelical Council, found that since 1970, a new evangelical church has opened in France every 10 days. The number of churches increased from 769 to 2,068 last year.
See also: Immigrant evangelical churches are a fast growing movement in France

"Worldwide, the march of religion can probably only be reversed by a renewed, self-aware secularism. Today, it appears exhausted and lacking in confidence... Secularism's greatest triumphs owe less to science than to popular social movements like nationalism, socialism and 1960s anarchist-liberalism. Ironically, secularism's demographic deficit means that it will probably only succeed in the twenty-first century if it can create a secular form of 'religious' enthusiasm." - Eric Kaufmann, an agnostic professor whose academic research specialty is how demographic changes affect religion/irreligion and politics

Au revoir atheist movement!

An additional sign the atheist movement has imploded. Reddit post: "Why is everyone mocking atheism all of a sudden?"

The social media website Reddit used to heavily promote atheism and had the atheism subreddit on its main page. Since then, internet atheism has imploded (See also: Internet atheism)

A 2016 Reddit post entitled Why is everyone mocking atheism all of a sudden? declared: "Now making fun of religion gets you labeled as a neckbeard or edgy, when like 2 years ago atheism was the main driving force of reddit?"

A member of Reddit responded to the post indicating:
A few years ago r/atheism had a "faces of atheism" campaign where people submitted pictures of themselves with some comment on atheism on them. It was so embarrassing and cringeworthy that the reddit mods removed r/atheism from the frontpage/main reddits because the reputation of the site itself was being tarnished. Since then, people started combining the (already existing) "fat neckbeard" stereotype with atheism and made parodies of the faces of atheism, like some ugly/underage fedora wearer saying cringe stuff like "intellect is my blade" etc.

Another sign the atheist movement in America has imploded: Cancelled atheist conferences

YouTube atheist Thunderfoot said about the atheist movement after Reason Rally 2016 had a very low turnout:
I'm not sure there is anything in this movement worth saving. Hitchens is dead. Dawkins simply doesn't have the energy for this sort of thing anymore. Harris went his own way. And Dennett just kind of blended into the background. So what do you think when the largest gathering of the nonreligious in history pulls in... I don't know. Maybe 2,000 people. Is there anything worth saving?

So is there another sign that the atheist movement in America has imploded?

Yes! Cancelled atheist conferences!

Behold the cancelled atheist conferences:

What will happen to Western atheism and Eastern atheism after the dominos of British atheism and Chinese atheism fall?

If you haven't read the below articles, I would strongly suggest doing so.

British atheism:

Google UK: Interest in atheism is dropping like a rock. Google trend data for the UK

A thermonuclear bomb of Christianity has hit the region formerly known as "godless Britain"

Voluntary ethnic segregration is dramatically up in Britain. Militant Darwinists/atheists abandon all hope that atheistic indoctrination and assimilation will occur throughout Britain

European atheism and global atheism:  Shall the Religious Inherit the Earth?: Demography and Politics in the Twenty-First Century by Eric Kaufmann

Yale Daily News reported in an article entitled White Europeans: An endangered species? that "Without a major shift in the current fertility trends, industrialized Europe will see its native population decline by about three-fourths over the 21st century." See also: Western atheism and race

Chinese atheism:

Chinese pastor who was lame from his youth supernaturally healed. His atheist family converts to Christianity

Cracks in the atheist edifice, The Economist, November 1, 2014

What will happen to Western atheism and Eastern atheism after the dominos of British atheism and Chinese atheism fall?

So what will happen to atheism in the United States and the rest of the Anglosphere when British atheism sees a decline in the 21st century?

What will happen to Asian/Eastern atheism when atheism in China sees a big decline?

Since these two rows of dominoes falling will be happening simultaneously, below is a visual demonstration of what will occur.

Chinese pastor who was lame from his youth supernaturally healed. His atheist family converts to Christianity

The Christian Post reports:
A Chinese pastor who suffered much persecution for spreading Christianity in the officially atheist country, sent the faith of a global gathering of Christians soaring Wednesday when he testified how his entire atheist family turned to God after he was healed of an illness that had left him crippled in his youth through prayers to Jesus.

Growth of Christianity in China

Persecution of Christians in China

Voluntary ethnic segregration is dramatically up in Britain. Militant Darwinists/atheists abandon all hope that atheistic indoctrination and assimilation will occur throughout Britain

Consider these news stories:

Britain's white flight: Report reveals how racial segregation has risen 'strikingly' in just 10 years - with numbers of whites in some areas down by up to HALF

Go away, you shouldn't be here. Don't come back': The corner of Yorkshire that has almost no white residents

Notice this line from the second story: "Entire districts are segregated, warns report, as it urges school intakes to be mixed".

The Darwinists/atheists are worried that evolutionism will not be taught in the Muslim controlled schools and other schools controlled by religious fundamentalists.

The news story Creationist views 'risk going unchallenged in schools' indicates:
The Government's Prevent strategy, introduced to tackle radicalisation in schools, has been blamed for creating a "hypersensitivity" among teachers when teaching evolution and challenging elements of the Muslim faith
Headteacher, Tom Sherrington, said there was a risk that schools could shy away from teaching evolution for fear of "provoking a reaction" in pupils with creationist views.
He warned that the programme has "added to the sense that you treat Muslim students as different" and that the tone of the strategy "makes any engagement directly questioning the faith position of Muslim students more challenging"...
"The antagonism that creationist students feel when their faith is challenged by science is quite extreme; it’s a big deal to tell them that they are wrong. It provokes a response that in the current climate could be misconstrued.
He added: "It would be a big mistake for science teachers to teach evolution any differently, just because of this fear of alienating Muslim students through Prevent approaches."....

Sherrington wrote: "Discussion of evolution – or any brush with Richard Dawkins – will present a massive challenge to students who hold creationist views.
Once the Muslim towns successfully refuse to engage in Darwinist indoctrination, it is just a matter of time before various Christian schools do the same.

The Telegraph says about Britain:  There is "an explosion in the number of newer Pentecostal and evangelical Churches outside of the traditional denominations."

Mr. Militant Atheist, the days of milquetoast evolution loving Anglicans in Britain are coming to an end. Are you ready for creationists to control what is being taught in many British schools?

Evolutionism is doomed in its birthplace of Britain. And Britain is the most significant stronghold of atheism in the Anglosphere. Once it sees a big decline, American atheism will wither.  The anemic attendance at the 2016 Reason Rally held in the United States  is proof of this. In 2011, New Atheism and the atheist movement saw a big decline after the British new atheist Richard Dawkins caused a schism within atheist population between progressive/feminist atheists and anti-feminist/non-progressive atheists. So was it a big surprise that the 2016 Reason Rally was sparsely attended?

Atheism is so doomed.  For about forty years we have seen the birth pangs of the decline of atheism.

On July 24, 2013, CNS News reported:
Atheism is in decline worldwide, with the number of atheists falling from 4.5% of the world’s population in 1970 to 2.0% in 2010 and projected to drop to 1.8% by 2020, according to a new report by the Center for the Study of Global Christianity at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, Mass."

And China, which has the world's largest atheist population, is experiencing a dramatic rise of evangelical Christianity. By 2030, China will have the largest Christian population in the world.
