8 reasons why 2017 is going to be a TERRIBLE year for militant atheists

Recently, I published the article 7 alarming trends for the atheist movement. Militant atheists surrender now!

Are there now 8 reasons why 2017 is going to be a TERRIBLE year for militant atheists? Are militant atheists behind the proverbial eight ball?  if so, what addition thing is expected to occur in 2017 which will hamper the spreading of atheism in the world?

On July 24, 2013, CNS News reported:
Atheism is in decline worldwide, with the number of atheists falling from 4.5% of the world’s population in 1970 to 2.0% in 2010 and projected to drop to 1.8% by 2020, according to a new report by the Center for the Study of Global Christianity at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (GCTS) in South Hamilton, Mass."

Data compiled by the Center for the Study of Global Christianity at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (GCTS):
Given the information in the resources directly above, the Center for the Study of Global Christianity (CSGC) at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, expects the global atheist population to shrink in its total number of individuals in 2017.

If CSGC is correct, then not only is the global market share of atheism going downward, but now the actual number of atheists in the world is going down as well.  Specifically, CSGC is projecting that from the mid-point of 2016 to the midpoint of 2017, the total number of atheists in the world is going to go from 138,101,000 individuals to 137,041,000 individuals.  That is a net loss of 60,000 atheists in the world during this period.  That means that if CSGC's projection is correct, then on average during this period, there will be 164,38 less atheists in the world per day.

792,505 views so far. And the views for the Atheist Delusion video by Ray Comfort keeps steadily climbing

American atheism under the Trump administration vs. the Obama administration

According to the University of Cambridge, historically, the "most notable spread of atheism was achieved through the success of the 1917 Russian Revolution, which brought the Marxist-Leninists to power."

The atheist Dr. Gordon Stein declared:
Atheism has long ceased to be a rare and oft-ignored philosophical outlook...It has transformed itself into an active political programme with clear objectives which, though they vary from state to state, unequivocally include the elimination of state religion, religious education, and the enshrinement of scientism.

According an article about American atheism:

According to the 2014 General Social Survey (GSS), the number of atheists and agnostics in the United States has remained relatively stable in the past 23 years. In 1991, 2% of Americans identified as atheist, and 4% identified as agnostic. In 2014, 3% of Americans identified as atheists, and 5% identified as agnostics.

In June 2016, American Interest reported:
First of all, religious belief is still very powerful and widespread, and there is nothing inevitable about its decline. In fact, the proportion of people who say they believe in God actually ticked modestly upward, from 86 percent to 89 percent, since Gallup last asked the question in 2014

The Pew Research Center reported in 2013:
The number of people who identify themselves as atheists in the United States has been rising, modestly but steadily, in recent years. Our aggregated data from 2012 show that 2.4% of American adults say they are atheists when asked about their religious identity, up from 1.6% in 2007."

If you look at the above figures of the percentage of atheists in the United States, American, atheism seemed to have gained during the first five years of the Obama presidency, lost some steam due the Elevatorgate  controversy and then lost its gains during the Obama presidency. I say seemed as the American atheist population is largely ignored in the United States and not much research is done on it. The relative stability of the Americans subscribing to an atheist worldview seems to be fairly typical as the GSS survey data over the years indicates.

So what is my prediction of what is going to happen during the Trump administration? Atheists will be more politically active due to backlash but that activity will somewhat diffused between left wing politics having to do with atheism matters and non-atheism matters (abortion, etc.).   On the other hand, the overall net effect of the Trump presidency will be negative on the atheist movement. I say this because Betsy Devos, who Trump appointed to be his Secretary of Eeducation, will probably speed up the progress the school choice movement is making, American atheism is very dependent on atheistic indoctrination in the public schools (see: Atheist indoctrination ). In addition, Trump has made a big dent in political correctness which is a practice which seeks to stifle political/religious speech.

The irony of course is that Donald Trump is a nominal Presbyterian and merely an ally of the Religious Right.

2017 will be the WORST year in the history of atheism

2017 will definitely be the WORST year in the history of atheism.

Why?

Behold, global atheism statistics and projections which will demoralize and demilitarize the most militant of militant atheists:

Global atheism statistics

What glorious statistics to celebrate in 2017 which is also the 500th anniversary of Protestantism!

Evangelical Christianity, a branch of Protestantism and the archnemesis of militant atheism, is seeing record growth and it is expected to increase its global market share in the 21st century (see: Growth of evangelical Christianity).

2017 will not only be the WORST year in the history of atheism. It will be the most glorious year in the history of Protestantism thus far. Given that Protestants are a global faith, choirs of Protestants will be singing for days on end in 2017.
